Today is three cool things, all connecting together.
First up is the podcast No Dogs In Space. It’s a history of punk music with the first four parts being about Iggy Pop and the Stooges. It’s narrated by the husband and wife team of Marcus Parks and Caroline Hidalgo. I’m not even through the first episode, which is over two hours long, and it’s so good. Besides talking about Iggy Pop and the Stooges they start off with a history of punk music. I’m really enjoying this and learning stuff at the same time. Like, I never knew how Iggy got his name, but now I do. And why the band is called the Stooges.
Listening to this podcast, they mentioned one of the best books on the history of punk music. PLEASE KILL ME by Legs McNeil and Gillian McCain. This is an oral history of the punk movement.
And finally, since we’ve been talking about them, here’s Iggy Pop and the Stooges.
