A few days back I was talking about looking for a new artist for The Almighty Project.  It didn’t take long after posting on Facebook for the messages to come.  A lot of good artists messaged me and I found one that I fell in love with her work at first glance.  Her name is Afia Shahid and I couldn’t be more pleased with her work.  She’s already jumped in and provided the character sketches you see on this page.  I love her designs for Jerry and his friends.  I can’t express how excited I am about this project right now.  I can’t wait till we start posing pages and let you all see it.

The search is over!

afia shahid

Well, that didn’t take long.  In my previous post I mention that I was looking for a new artist for The Almighty Project.  I posted in a bunch of different Facebook groups and received a lot of very good responses back.  I appreciate everyone that emailed me with their work, it was all really good and gave me a lot of choices.  In the end I went with Afia Shahid, a talented artist from Pakistan.  The above is an example of her work and you can see more here.  I’m really excited to be working with her and I can’t wait to be able to start posting pages and letting everyone else see it.

Looking for an Artist

For the moment, as I mentioned previously, THE ALMIGHTY PROJECT is on hiatus while I look for an artist.  I’m not going to go into details about the previous artist, except to say it didn’t work out, and now I am in need of a new artist.  I have advertised on numerous sites on Facebook and already have some really good candidates so I’m hopeful that it won’t be too much longer before I can make a post that the comic is back on track and up online again.

New Comic

almighty project page one finished

I’m a little late in talking about this.  Three weeks ago we debuted the newest comic to feature my writing.  The Almighty Project.  This one is a lot different than Ayla Speaker for the Dead.  For starters it’s in black and white.  I know a lot of people might be turned off just because of that, but I think black and white is just as creative as color.  A lot of the comics I wrote when I first started writing are in black and white.  I’m hoping that the fact it’s in black and white won’t deter anyone from reading it.

The Almighty Project is my attempt at a Young Adult Novel.  If you’re a fan of Andrew Smith and any of his books, blame him.  I picked up The Grasshopper Jungle and fell in love with his writing.  It lead me to immediately look for every book the man has ever written and proceed to read them.  Which in turn lead me to want to write my own Young Adult Novel.  I wouldn’t blame it completely on Mr. Smith, I’ve been reading others before him, but he really grabbed me.

This story has more autobiographical elements in it than anything I have ever written also.  I’ll leave it the reader to determine which are which.

Please give it read and let me know what you think.  This story means a lot of me and I hope you enjoy it.
